Change of Heart…

He was a young pastor just starting out when he learned an important lesson about matters of the heart – I hope you enjoy this story like I did ...

“There was a man who walked around town and through the mall dressed in black, wearing chains that clanged as he walked. He wore more leather than a cow, always had a scowl on his face, and I was afraid of him. When he walked by, I’d hide in the clothes racks so he wouldn’t see me.

Some time later I was talking with a woman at church and asked if I could pray with her about anything. She quickly responded, requesting prayer for her son. She said he used to go to church, when he was little he gave his heart to Jesus in Vacation Bible School. He wrote songs to Jesus, he’d stand up on a box and preach to his friends; they got saved many times! But then something happened in the church, he got hurt and became bitter, started hanging out with the wrong crowd, and got into the drug culture. They became like a family to him.

I asked her where her son lived. When she told me who he was I realized he was the scary man in black leather. As I began to pray for him, my heart changed, I saw him through his Mother’s eyes instead of my fear. In time, I was able to lead him back to Jesus!”

When we spend time with our Father, we will also see other’s through His eyes, our hearts, too, will change when we allow God’s love to flow through us.
