Jesus told us, “Let not your heart be troubled!” But look what’s happening in the Middle East! “Let not your heart be troubled!” How about the natural disasters! “Let not your heart be troubled!” But right is called wrong and wrong is called right! “Let not your heart be troubled!” Look, we have some ungodly leadership in our cities, states, and nation! “Let not your heart be troubled!”

How many times does He have to tell us not to worry about it? We do live in troubled times, but we need to develop ourselves to resist fear and completely trust in God and His Word.

Psalm 91 is one of my favorite passages of scripture; I read it often. It’s where I want to live – under the shadow of the Almighty! (To be in someone’s shadow you have to be really close to them.) The rest of the chapter is filled with wonderful promises that accompany the lifestyle of living close to the Lord!

So, take control of those fearful thoughts, bring them into captivity with the Word of God! Replace worry thoughts with the Word thoughts, live in that secret place under the shadow of the Almighty and you’ll find that your heart is at peace!
